Guest guest
Debi; Usually it doesn't take any thing but just being willing to ask. . . I won tickets to a a McBride concert and I didn't think about how I was going to stand in line, walk up the bleachers, or any of that. .. til hubby mentioned it.(think he was looking for me to back out. . LOL) Neither of us had been to a concert and I think he was afraid it would be too taxing on me and he wasn't sure he wanted to go because of them being so loud. . his ears are extremely sensative. But, when I went to pick up the tickets I asked the lady if there would be an area for handicap or disabled. She called the concert hall and asked them if I needed special seating or just show up. They mailed me special tickets for disabled. It was wonderful. No lines, just walked in off the parking lot, which I got right by the door, walked in and the seats were on a balcony that over looked the stage. It was great! (A little loud but if you covered your ears you could hear and it was just right! LOL)and I got to see Mark Wills who was on tour with her, he sang what I deemed the CMT theme song. . . " Don't Laugh at Me " . But, I decided after that experience. . I would ask. . all they can do is say " NO " . Also, for those who are like I was and don't realize there are benefits in other things. . . I got a Golden Access card and it helps get discounts with many things; State Parks give discounts and sometimes gets your whole family in for free. So, every where I go I ask if they take Golden Access. It doesn't cost anything to get it but you show your Handicap pink slip you have when you get your placard or handicap license plate. Good luck, and I believe in using these benefits for it is my contribution to our family's budget since I can no longer bring in an income! We like to camp and usually it saves half or better on the fees. Rocky Mountain National Park let our whole family in for nothing ($10 a pop) Big Hugs. . too all!
