Guest guest
I was taught Hemoccult is the name of a test (to check for occult blood) and should be capped, and all my lab books show it capped as well. Per Dorlands: " Hemoccult- trademark for a modification of the guaiac test for occult blood... " Hope this helps! Monika hemoccult > Is it supposed to be capitalized? Is it supposed to be spelled that way? that's the way my spell check insists on (plus capping) but the MPI shows it spelled hemocult and not capitalized. It wasn't in the dictionary. > > >
Guest guest
Hemoccult should be capitalized as it is a brand name. However, heme should not be capitalized.. For example: Hemoccult-positive stool, but heme-positive stool. Hope this helps Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. Guest guest
QA tells me that Hemoccult is a brand name, and therefore always capitalized. ------------------------------------------------ a in Maine Career Step Grad - 7/30/02 Total eMed - 8/19/02 ------------------------------------------------ hemoccult Is it supposed to be capitalized? Guest guest
By cracky, the MPI does show entries for " hemocult positive stools, " " hemocult screening, " and " hemoculture negative. " Hmmm. I thought we might have another " homo two " situation here, so I did some quick research. Vera, whom most of us trust to the max, lists " Hemoccult Sensa " and " Hemoccult II. " Google turned up some hits on " hemocult, " and all I checked were questionable. One took me to a site for Hemoccult IIâ, leading me to conclude that the webmaster of that site anticipated misspellings and entered incorrect spellings in his/her headers. Google turned up lots of hits for KlineGlaxo or Kline Diagnostics and Hemoccult II or Hemoccult Sensa. I think we have a situation here--the MPI seems to have two errors. Anyone know how to bring this to their attention? Valeria At 01:54 PM 9/25/2002, Tani wrote: >Is it supposed to be capitalized?
