Not sure about deepener. Probably referring to the action of a deepening

reamer. Pulvinar is correct. That would probably be bowl curette.

There are 3 words here that I am having a problem with.

This is a right hip replacement.

After the capsule was excised, the pilot drill was then placed at about 90°,

and the *s/l deepener* was then placed, followed by the acetabular expander.

Once the acetabular expander was utilized, there was noted to be good

cancellous bone with no evidence of any soft tissue.

The *s/l pulvinar* was removed with a large *s/l ball* curet, and some cysts

in the superior lateral border of the acetabulum were identified, and

curetted, to clean up their soft tissue.

I cannot document a bowl curet or a ball curet. Since he is scraping fatty

debris (pulvinar) from the acetabulum, I am thinking it can't be a bone curet. I

did find a Ballenger curet. Could he be saying a brief form of that by saying

ball? I do know now that pulvinar is correct, but I am still having the problem

with s/l deepener. I cannot document this anywhere either.
