Guest guest
shared that her DD has been diagnosed with this. Tom (aka " deaf aid " ) was when he was around 9mths also - took 6mths or so, but cleared up naturally. We never noticed any signs, but watching his reactions during tests it was clear how bad it was. Don't worry too much - very common. And there's nothing you can do about it to make it better. Speech difficulties are less likely if you do things like talk clearly, loudly, turn off distracting noises, manage 5mins quality one-to-one chat time.... Dead simple. Having it diagnosed is half the problem. Now you know, keep an eye out (ear out?) for infections - if in doubt, go to doctors/offer painkiller. Try not to worry - it does clear up naturally for many kids. Think positive, that it will for yours, too! Sam
