Guest guest
Hellto to all the new members! What a nice surprise to find we have new members, My name is Jolie. I was diagnosed in 2004. I am 30 years old and have 2 daughters. I look forward to getting to know you all. I haven't been online much lately, been preoccupied with stuff. My daughters $200.00 bike was stolen, we got it for her 8th birthday. It was still new since her birthday was in March. We have been scouring the neighborhood for it and pawn shops. No luck yet. Needless to say my daughter is heartbroken about it. She doesn't understand why somebody would steal her bike. How do you tell kids " cuz some people suck " ? But anyway, the police have better things to do than look for bikes, at least Im told. So I will quit my rant. Welcome to the newbies! Guest guest
My name is Denene and I am 45 years old from Oklahoma. I have been married to my husband Don for almost 5 years now. I have been diagnosed with Chronic pain for almost 2 years and have had numerous medications. Now on Lyrica, plus have a stimulator and will have surgery on the 29th of this month to place more leads and possibly a new or another stimulator. I am very depressed and not sure if this is part of the pain issue but also I know it is partly because of all at once feeling I have very little to no support from husband. His way of saying that I am faking and do NOT need a handicap card to park when I drive to town and able do do at least some shopping. It is very difficult to do it all with the pain and I get very tired fast. It is even harder when not all the businesses offer electric carts for their handicapped customers to use to shop and make it easier and possibly even spend more $$ which you would think they would want! I have a service dog that is training to assist me, he is a black lab " Bruno " who will assist with mobility, picking up things I drop and that are to low for me to pick up. He also braces when I get up and or sit down so I don't just fall in a chair or sofa and end up breaking it. Well must close we have bad weather possibly in the area or coming. I will check mail later on today if I can. Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!!! Denene & Bruno - Oklahoma >Kaylene wrote: > I want to welcome all our new members. It seems like hardly a day goes by that we don't have someone else join the group.

Thanks, Kaylene. It really means a lot to have a place to vent!! God Bless you and yours, Robbie

Denene, I put off getting a handicapped sticker for years and then I asked and I only used it when I need it and I do use it when I have to unload. You do not need to put any more stress on yourself than you already have. Your husband probably doesn't know how deal with the pain that is bothering you and men get upset because they can't fix it. The dog will be a great companion, I do dog rescue and they are my support system, they talk back some but I deserve it when it when they do I hope your stimulator goes well and several people in our group have them and do well. You will love this group, they are very kind and supportive. I found " The Survival Guide For Intractable Pain Patients " by Dr. Forest Tenent is a very good guide for patients and families and you can download it at paintopics.org and they have many articles there that are informative and Spine Universe does also. I hope your surgery goes well and let us know how you do and welcome everyone else. Where in Oklahoma are you from? Bennie
Guest guest
I am so glad that I found this group. I am sitting here in tears the pain is so bad. I have MS and I am on about 6-7 different meds a day and sometimes that doesn't help. I have Lyrica, Baclofen, Marinol, Cymbalta, etc. I feel so bad and sometimes I just feel that no body else in the world is like me. My family understands and they help me a lot and have made accommodations but the pain makes me crazy. Just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
I'm glad I found this group, too. Only a few people in my life have the experience to really understand what I'm dealing with; others are sympathetic but don't really get it. " Chronic back pain " sounds so vague that people don't understand what it's like to live with this lead weight. It's a relief to come here and hear from people who deeply understand the frustration. wrote: > I am so glad that I found this group. I am sitting here in tears the pain is so bad.
