Guest guest
This little beastie has reared it's ugly head again in my son. He had a high count of this seven years ago but it hasn't shown up in stool testing again until a few months ago where it showed up at 2+. We treated it with Urva Ursi and it went away for one testing round but is now it's back at 4+. I recall, long ago, hearing that this beast is doubly bad since it releases toxins that affect the brain but I don't recall alot about it so any info would be welcome. He started Cipro for it on Thursday and at first seemed fine but mid-day yesterday was a bucket of tears, strange tantrumming for weird reasons which is extremely odd for him. I vaguely recall some strange behavior the first time we treated this years ago but it was so long ago I don't recall specifics. He's fine now and was doing fine right before the melt-down series so it does seem like he had a weird physical thing. Anyone know if the bacteria release toxins as they die off? Any info or suggestions to offer? He's also taking Lauricidin -- gradually increasing, now at 1/4 cap twice a day. I don't usually give him antibiotics (last round was six years ago) but since I recall this one being a mess last time and the Uva Ursi not seeming to help, the doc and I felt Cipro was the best bet. Hopefully, I won't regret that decision. Also, anyone know if FOS feeds citrobacter freundii? I just noticed the brand of probiotics we use just added FOS on the sly and we're almost done with that bottle so he's probably been taking it for a month. The old bottle doesn't list the FOS. I hate it when companies change products we trust in. I also recently noticed the calcium supplement he's been taking for years just added oyster shell with the last bottle. Just when you think you can relax, you have to keep reading those darned labels! Gaylen
Guest guest
Gaylen, When did you start the lauricidin? I remember crying out bursts at the start of lauricidin. But progress did follow. nne > This little beastie has reared it's ugly head again in my son.
