I use Roman because BOS says: " Stages are generally expressed with roman

numerals, although there

are exceptions. " I haven't discovered an exception for Tanner stages, so I use

Roman.

I can't seem to find this in my BOS. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. Do

we use roman numerals or arabic numerals for a Tanner stage?

Rennie, I just checked Vera and she uses Roman numerals for Tanner stages also,

so glad to hear that BOS hasn't changed that, Margaret

Tanner stage didn't ring a bell for me, so I looked in Vera Pyle to see what it

was. I found Tanner Developmental Scale. Is that what you're referring to? If

it is, she says it's Roman I to V.

Yup, it's Roman numerals, and it's used to describe sexual/anatomic maturity in

adolscents.
