Guest guest
Wendi I agree with you, if she is sleeping, don't wake her. Kaitlyn who is also 10 weeks has slept through the night a couple of times. When she doesn't sleep through the night she only wakes up one time. My milk supply has not diminished at all. Guest guest
Dawn, That should be shown to every couple who is expecting. I bet more would choose nursing. Guest guest
Amy- It took me a year and a half from the time I first considered surgery to actually scheduling it. You have to be ready and you have to be absolutely sure. Don't beat yourself up. It's part of the process. Katy
Guest guest
Let's make sure Kathy (not Katy) gets all the credit for having endured the most in her struggle with insurance. Your continued optimism in the face of such ridiculous obstacles is truly inspiring. I'm not sure I could have done it. I do love the idea about the backpacks. If oprah can wheel out a wagon full of fat, you can certainly have the appeals committee stand for a few minutes in your body, so to speak. If you are as eloquent with them as you are here, I don't see how you can lose. We're all behind you. Katy Musolino Grateful I didn't have to appeal. 3/15/99--344 4/27/99--
Guest guest
Thanks for all the support, but I wouldn't say that I have fought the hardest battle -I would just say that I have ran my mouth about it the most!!!!!LOL Just want to thank all of you for letting me talk through all the problems and frustrations - you are such a source of strength for me Kathy Kaiser Permanente appealing again
Guest guest
No, you don't need to take them until two weeks after surgery. No, you don't need a prescription. You can get them at GNC (if you like to pay the highest price) or you can get them at Walmart. Congratulations. The minute you wake up you'll feel like a million bucks, even though you will not be taking a vitamin for another 14 days. Guest guest
Kathy, I know you don't want to think about this any more right now but have you considered e-mailing Walter just to see what his fee would be for a letter or two? Especially now that you've been given the information about the Charlotte denials......he might know how to use that to your advantage without costing you a bunch! It won't cost anything to write & ask giving him a brief synopses of what's happened so far. What do you think? (no subject) From: thestewarts@... (Kathy ) I wanted to tell you what just happened. I had a phone call from a nice lady who would not give me her name. She said she worked at Kaiser and heard about my situation. She told me that I need to check into the fact that Kaiser is denying an extremely high number of non urgent surgeries in the Charlotte area now. Since they are pulling out, they won't have to pay for the future health problems of their members anyway. They are only doing what could be considered emergeny now. What do you think of this???? I appreciated the lady but she wouldn't tell me her name or anything = do you think this is a true accusal of Charlotte Kaiser??? I thought about what she said and it made perfect sense. If I get put in the hospital next year for heart problems again, it won't cost kaiser a penny so why should they pay for the WLS now?? I am so tired , but I wanted to see what you thought aobut this call.... Guest guest
Kathy, I can't comment on that since I am an employee. I would like to think this could or would not be true. As our conversation yesterday, just don't give up. Let it be known and well heard that you are going to continue to push Kaiser for an answer. Also, call the insurance commissioner today... Guest guest
Hi gang... As you all know, I am an employee of Kaiser here in Raleigh area. I would like to say that I can not answer as to why one person is approved and others are not. I can say as a " person " this does not seem fair. But each case is reviewed and has it's own circumstances surrounding it. I have to respect what my employer decides whether or not I want to. While this is a shallow response, my heart goes out to Kathy and I wish I could do more for her. I think for a few days, I am going to remove myself from the list so that I can separate myself from what is taking place. I wish you all the best of luck with your decisions and please feel free to email me anytime. I just need to put some space between myself and the decision making process before I react from my heart and not my head. Too often, I make decisions based on the heart without thinking. Please understand. Take care, my thoughts and prayers will be with you all. Love,

Guest guest
The majority of the world's skinnies wouldn't last a day in our bodies. Give them about 6 hours and they'd be crying for help anyway they could get it. Guest guest
Dr. Rutledge, I was amazed the time you had obviously spent on answering these questions (do you ever sleep?), it is a lot of good information that would really help those thinking about the surgery. Have you thought about doing this in a brochure? I could see where this might help to be handed at at the clinic's. There's alot of information there that you really don't think about asking at the clinics. Just a thought?
