We should all plan and save up to go on a cruise to somewere cool!!

Then we really could all visit! Even if for a few days! Even if the

date is 5 yrs from now! It would be such a wondeful vacation! Even if

its a cabin in the mountains somewere! Thanks for the cruise ship

fantasy! You know how much I love those,seems so real. What is going on

in Oakland? I hope all is well.

I am voting for Alaska! I am waay overdue in welcoming all of our

new members to Our Gang.

I have had these fantasy cruises in mind for some time for all of us

on this list, and Alaska is a really good destination during the summer.

My fantasy, and those of you who know me in this group have read

all this before, consists of this giant luxury cruise ship. When we

enter

it, we magically are free of symptoms, and pain and even of limitations

in mobility. We just roll on to the deck and prepare for a couple of

weeks

of calm and coolness. Of course, we are headed up by our Fearless

Leader,

Sharon and her daughter and co-moderator, Challis. There is gourmet

cooking,

and there are lounge chairs, and several large cooling pools--just

right for what

ever the temperature of the day happens to be. During this time of

freedom

from suffering, steroids, injections and pills, etc., our memories for

names will

be magically restored and we will get to meet each group member and, at

least

for a time, actually remember who each person is and what the name is!

We will all have wonderful cabins, the best of clothes and appropriate

and safe

footwear. We will watch the icebergs calve off, and view Alaska from

just off

the shore. Etc. Etc. Etc.

I have other fantasies about other cruises designed for us all to get

to know

one another, but enough for now.

No, I do not drink either! (water, yes, coffee, tea, yes).

n, Outraged about one thing or another in Oakland, California,

where my desk is opposite the Golden Gate Bridge (which is red)

and I am across the S.F. Bay from San Francisco. . . . . seeing all

that water just gets me fantasizing. . . .

Oakland is actually pretty good. Great grocery shopping; great

Asian Restaurants; bargain organic produce, and I live about

75 yards south of Berkeley which has my terrific pharmacy,

fantastic Greek grocery stores (yet!) and the world's best

coffee and tea, except for Muchie's in Vancouver, B.C.

And the view is great; we have had a recent contamination

and spill in San Pablo Bay, which is just the Northernmost

part of the San Francisco Bay--but that is being contained--

it was a chemical called Tuloene, not oil--for once!

Summer is coming, which is not so good, given our drought

situation here (Oh, those lucky Oregonians and Washingtonians;

they get rain without Tornadoes, Twisters, Hurricaines or Cyclones!)

But it is gorgeous; birds are mating up and breeding; wild life is

wild, and so are the humans!

I am just old enough and just silly enough to be really grateful.

After all at my age, most people have something wrong with

them. I am enjoying my friends, on line, off line, related to me

and not, and even my animal friends: my neighbor's Chihuahua,

SAMSON, and my four wolf dogs who live with my friend Edna

and her eldest son, where they are hopelessly indulged, and

are pleading for their own prime time television show, to be called:

Desperate Housedogs.
