Guest guest
Thank you for posting! I learned a lot about how to manage my own pain. I will start painting TODAY. The material has been out on my table for weeks - months. I just never get around to doing it. I paint using lots of tiny dots. I call this painting Lotsadotsa. Others call the painting Pointillism. You have overcome so much. Keep posting your stories. It's not often that I read something that gets me going - starts me up. Some days I just sit around like a stone. I've had Chronic Pain for ten years. I take 15 Methadone a day and Morphine for in between pain. (I am never without pain) Thank God for that small pile of plates! It is your time to stay, Ron. ( Even if only riding a stationary bike for 10 minutes ) But exercise and stretching are essential for me. 3) Eating a great diet, on a regular schedule. This helps in so many ways.:-) 4) Stay Busy - I took to wood working as a hobby when I could no longer work. I put together a shop in my garage and build and repair furniture and other things like bird houses. It keep me busy and helps me stave off boredom and depression. 5) Do something I have always loved - Play my guitars. I started when I was 8 years old, and still LOVE it. It's very therapeutic. It also helps me with the Arthritis in my hands. Well, That's my intro. There's a lot more I can share I'm sure, But that will come in time. Guest guest
Hi Ron, You have been through a lot, I couldn't imagine going through all of those surgeries. I try to stay as busy as possible and I have been fortunate enough to work from home for a company that only hires disabled persons to telecommute. Although I can only tolerate a part time (split shift) position, it does keep my mind busy. I also agree with you on exercise, I have gotten out of the habit as the more I do the more flairs I have but I am getting back into my old routine. My greatest joy is playing in my garden, even if I need my husband and kids to do most of the heavy work. It gives me the greatest pleasure to know I can still do my family some good and grow fresh, organic food for them. It is also very relaxing! I would love to learn woodworking, I am a " made with my own hands " kinda girl. Cherese --- Ron wrote: > > Hello, > > My name is Ron, and this is my first post to this group. He also has a website and authors the Practical Pain Journal and his articles can be found by typing his name in. I like the article he did on doing an autopsy review on . He was requested by other sources that he do this to see if died of opoid use as thought by millions but he did not according to Dr. Tennant's review. It can also be found on Pain Topics.org. I also believe the American Pain Foundation to be a great site especially under publications and they do much to lobby for Pain Patient Legislature. Ron, welcome from me also and hope the best for you, the members here are great and understanding. Bennie
