Guest guest
I don't know if the liver has anything to do with it, but people who have been on high dose opioid pain medications will require more than the average person if they are still taking the medications. If she's been off high doses for some time, it shouldn't take super high doses. The question is, What are the doses per day she is taking? A broken rib is painful, there's no doubt about it and her pain should be treated but I doubt they can reduce the pain significantly and keep her alert and functioning at the same time. If she's been on opioids for a chronic pain condition, they could try methadone. That's a good choice for a lot of people.
