Question about pain relief

Guys,

My friend just had surgery for non-small cell carcinoma in her lung, had

a lobe removed, and they broke a rib in the process. She is in

excruciating pain.

I asked her if she had pain meds, and she replied:

Oh yes. I have Percocet, Vicodin and Hydromorphone. They don't help.

Doc says it is because I've been given so much in the way of pain

killers that my liver just removes it from my system almost immediately.

Have you ever heard that before?
