Careful! Popping can be harmful to someone with chronic pain =P

While methadone isn't my primary pain medication, it is one of the

medications that I take for pain. It helps with some of there pain that

isn't affected by other opioids, probably because it worlds on kappa-opioid

receptors, as well as mu-opioid receptors. When I first started taking it,

and after every dose increase, I got pretty bad headaches, but they did

subside after 2-3 days.

I've also taken gabapentin (Neurontin), but it didn't really help. It made

me really tired when I took more than 1600mg/day, but around 1500mg/day, it

made the pain easier to deal with, not by reducing it, but by ever so

slightly elevating my mood (basically, a mild high). I got sick of taking

it after a while, so I stopped. I don't remember what the highest dose that

I tried was, bit it was over 4000mg/day.

Please feel free to ask any questions that you wish (I'm not shy). If you

happen to ask something that I'd rather not answer, I'll let you know, but

it hasn't happened yet.

Just want to pop in and say hello. I haven't been responding to my posts

but I'm going to start. I am still a little confused about how this works.

I'll learn.

I have Chronic pain and take Methadone. I would like to hear from someone

who takes that.
