Has anyone gone to a Pain Counselor?

What do you expect to find at a Pain Clinic and have you found that most of

them do the injections more so than anything else?

Let me know. I am calling places tomorrow to find a place to go to for my

neck, shoulder and back pain and I have gone thru the spine injections and

neck and head ones. They don't last very long and I have thought about going

back to the doctor that did it for me.

when I first went to pain management they did the injections. they did not work

long for me either. After a week they wore off and the pain was worse. But

they messed up my blood sugars big time.

I have pain in my neck shoulders and back.

They tried me on medication after the shots didn't work. It took some time but

we finally found a combination of medications that keeps most of my pain in

check.

I had to have a doctor refer me to pain management. From what I hear from

others, they are all similar. If you have had the injections, try and get the

record of them so you can prove that you had them.

I wanted a pain counselor who would help, somehow, relieve the physical pain.

She could not help me with that. But, she has helped with the mental and social

effects of pain. Dealing with the pain helps me deal with my self and other

people. So, I go to a pain management doc for drugs and a counselor for therapy.
