Guest guest
Hi , Kaylene, and all, I was wondering what you found out about the Yoga in helping your pain. I have too much pain (for me) to deal with doing too much. I am not on pain medication unfortunately and cannot do much. It affects my sleep quite a bit as I wake up in pain and have to turn onto my other side for some relief. I was hoping to try Yoga and get relief. My Oregon insurance will not pay for what I need or might need, such as surgery, injections, etc. My Sciatic nerve seems to be really bothering me. I remember reading awhile back how it runs down the back of your leg, but also along part of your upper thigh. Both of my upper thighs get the same bad pain in the same place. I have had this for years. I recently turned 49 years young. I really do not know how I stay sane and positive. It seems I get down and depressed more easily these days though. I do not smoke or drink. I can not handle this pain much more. That s why I am wondering if yoga would help. I live on the beautiful Southern Oregon damp and windy coast. It did not used to bother me. I used to be able to enjoy sitting on the beach and collect agates and whatnots. Now, the chronic pain takes over my brain and it makes it hard to concentrate Please tell me that Yoga and/or meditation helps. Hugs to all, Coleen > wrote: > Does anyone here do any meditation to help with pain? Any yoga?

Good morning and everybody, I meditate several times a day to control my pain that the pain killers doesn't touch. It works well too. I use the mindfulness meditation,(sit in a comfortable position, you don't have to cross your legs, just sit if you like), and a very easy to do meditation called " Follow the breath " , I simply become aware that I am breathing in and that I am breathing out, and can pay attention ONLY to following the breath. Try to block out all other sounds and noises. It may be difficult at first but you will soon be able to just concentrate on your breath. You then think of quelling your pain while following the breath. It works great for me.
Guest guest
Thank you so much. I will do the meditation as soon as I leave here. Sometimes my pain goes wildly out of control. I don't know if it will help when I am like that, but I will find out. I have a question that you might be able to answer. I heard that sleeping in a Lazyboy chair is not good for people who have back pain. Do you think that's true or not. Thanks. > wrote: > I use the mindfulness meditation
Guest guest
Dear Colleen, Yoga might help. Try it if it doesn't hurt. It's a gentle stretch and I may try a little bit of it today. What I want to say is this: I believe you need pain medication. You are young and want to do many things in your life, opioids will allow you to do this. You will be able to be more social. Fix and eat healthful meals. Exercise - maybe just walking. Everything. I sincerely hope you will do a doctor search until you find a good pain doctor. Sincerely, siouxmoore (My name is Sue and I just spell it different in my screen name) > Coleen Fox wrote: > I was wondering what you found out about the Yoga in helping your pain. Good Morning Siouxmoore, I don't know about lazyboy furniture, but my Orthopedic surgeon suggested I get " zero gravity chair " to help with the lower back pain. I got one and it worked, but when I got out of the chair the pain came back. It's a shame I couldn't spend more time in it.
Guest guest
Yes, I guess it would be impossible to live on it. I would like to sit all comfy for life. I am going to look into the Zero Gravity Chair. > wrote: > my Orthopedic surgeon suggested I get " zero gravity chair " to help with the lower back pain. Guest guest
I talked to a friend of mine and he said he does almost the same thing you do to relieve his headache pain Thanks for letting me know what you do with meditation > wrote: > > I meditate several times a day to control my pain that the pain killers > doesn't touch.
