Andy--GABA, OCD, Anxiety

Hi Andy,

The GABA Plus I just got from Kirkman's has a small amount of

inositol (10 mg per capsule along with 150 mg GABA, and 10 mg

niacinamide). Both of my kids have been taking Luvox for OCD

behaviors (doesn't seem to be working very well). I haven't given

them the GABA Plus yet because I don't know if there would be drug

interaction problems. Do you know of any problems with GABA and/or

Inositol and any medications? Also, do you have any idea on an

appropriate dose? My son weighs about 100 lbs. and my daughter weighs

about 75 lbs. The adult dosage on the bottle from Kirkman's is 3

capsules daily.

10 mg of inositol is insignificant.

Inositol would help the luvox work better, as would tryptophan.

Luvox is generally a " deactivating " and " slowing " SSRI. It is also

hard on the liver. If they are hyper and have reasonably strong

livers it is a good choice.

GABA doesn't interact with SSRI's.
