Guest guest
Hi, It is not well known that ticks have toxins in their bites that can cause paralysis, and nerve related issues. That can be the cause of a reaction from the bite. Bacteria can even be trying to help you detox the toxin, as in nature, bacteria and fungus are nature's clean up crew. Some that are told they have lyme concentrate on building their health, and immune system, and not trying to kill off all the bacteria. If concerned, you can do more reading on this, and the germ theory in general. I hate those small blood ticks as I call them, they are the small gray ones that are small as a pins head. My cairn terrier sat in a certain part of my Dad's pasture and when I picked him up he was covered with them, crawling up to get him. Those deer ticks are the hard ones that are are to squash and seem to have a hard shell and two tone color. I remember those. Lord, I used to walk barefoot out in the pasture where snakes, spiders, and other creatures roamed and never got bit. I did get bit by a brown recluse on my breast walking thru a web and it dropped down in my blouse but I did not notice it, a blister formed the first day, the third day there was black necrosis and worried about a natural mastectomy, I went to the ER and the placed me in the hospital for three days on IV antibiotics and I had one month, three times a week of debridment therapy, to make the skin grow back together. Nothing like this happened when I lived on the farm, I guess we gave out a aroma of stay away from me. I have had a Brahma cow with horns jump the fence go after me, a horse run me and try to buck me, a cotton mouth snake swim to get me. We even would swim in my Dad's pond that was muddy as mud (people said we would get Malaria) that had snakes and turtles. I shudder to think of the parasites we had or encountered. I never had any immune problems until I was 29 and had a Epstein Barr infection but it came from untreated Strep Throat that the antibiotics did not knock out. I have had ups and downs since then with my immune system and I know my body tries to expel any foreign bodies in my system thus I want to get my back hardware out. That is why I put off neuro stimulators or pain pumps as I scar easily because my system tends to scar off anything that is introduced into my system. You know Doctors panic if you have red streaks from an injury indicative of staph but I remember several times I have had streaks from injuries and I got boils on the back of my legs. My granma put an egg and salt poultice on it to draw it out and then took thread and twisted in the core to get the hard pustule out. Ole time remedies, Aren't they great ? We had a lot of rain ofter a drought so I am sure they are. I read where Minnesota was the most tick infected (go to CDD map) but there is controversy that reports are under-reported and Texas is supposed have an immense amount more than they report. I checked the tick website just out of curiosity and I believe that I have seen the " Lone Star " tick on us as it has a white spot in the middle of it. I am glad I made it the childhood. Maybe it was all that bleach Mom put in our bathwater. Oh Memories, thanks for making me remember our exciting pastimes, " Pick the ticks of us, the dogs, the cows, the horses, and of course, the cats. Okay Jennette, what about Chiggers, I would rather bit by anything but chiggers boy do they itch and Campho-Phenique) was the only thing that helped me Bennie
