That's not the one adults can't take because of brain structer or something is it? Butch, Valtrex is anti fungal-ask for Ritalin or Provigel. Ritalin is on formylary at Walgreens for four dollars. The handbook is free, just do an internet search for Survival Handbook for Intractable Pain Patients by Dr. Forest Tennent : ) You can get B12 under the mouth at drugstore No, my husband takes ritalin and he has a colloidal brain tumor and couldn't concentrate and really has ADDHD. Doctors are not trained on nutrition. If there is a public health center of if you personally have a friend a nurse, you could get them to do your vit B12 injections, I did my own. Let us know how you get. Vitamin D also helps pain and I am taking fifty thousand units right now weekly for along time. I agree with you an all counts. Hope you are better. Guest guest
Valtrex (valacyclovir) is an antiviral (acyclovir pro-drug). There are some people (select CFIDS patients) who get symptom relief from it, but it does not actually treat fatigue, tiredness, or hypersomnia. People of all ages can take Ritalin/Concerta/Metadate, Adderall, Dexedrine, or any other AD/HD (aka ADHD & ADD) medication. There are no age limitations. SOME insurance companies only pay for them for ADHD until age 21 (or require prior authorization after age 21), but they do pay for them to treat narcolepsy at any age (so they don't have to pay for Xyrem, an extremely expensive narcolepsy drug). Check your insurance company's formulary to see what they cover and what restrictions (if any) apply to their coverage. NEVER let a doctor tell you an insurance company will not pay for something (always make them submit a COMPLETE prior authorization form and have them mail or fax a copy to you, so you know it was done right and because they will do a better job if they know you'll be looking at it). If your doctor doesn't fill out a prior authorization form, download one from your insurance company's website and fill it out yourself and hand it to your doctor for him/her to sign. Dr. Tennant's book is priceless, it should be required reading for every doctor and every pain patient in this country. I've reread it MANY times and I learn new things (about half of which I learned and forgot before). Even if you've already read it, reread it. Guest guest
, Oh you are SO GREAT, now can I get you to go to a comphrehensive clinic or just try it ? Oh I know Valtrex is anti fungal I had to take it for Shingles I had twice in one year. Contact me personally if you check out the sites I mentioned and what you found out, I care about what happens to you. , I didn't find any off label use for Valtrex but since it suppresses the immune system and allows other infections to grow, I can't jump on this band wagon. Ritalin has been around for years and insurance okays as is listed for sleep disorder. Prior Authorization is needed for Provigel and Xren require sleep study, sleep doc but once done is yearly update. I take Provigel as need. You are right and everybody should check your Insurance Formulary as my insurance (TRICARE) meet quarterly and there are changes quarterly and what is ok for one quarter may change the next quarter. Bennie * Interesting read, Dr. Forest Tennant was called to review autopsy results as he was labeled a codeine addict (he had a bad wreck and codeine was the only med around then) Well, it was always thought he died from opioid problems but after this review, Not So, read to find out.pain-topics.org/pdf/Pseudoaddict.pdf This is in the Practical Pain Management Journal and there is a good article in this issue of Tens use in pain management and Neurotin in pain management -Three for one read Bennie > M wrote: > People of all ages can take Ritalin/Concerta/Metadate, Adderall, Dexedrine, or any other AD/HD (aka ADHD & ADD) medication.
