Guest guest
I had necrotic muscle in my legs for 2 years (started out as a side effect of injectable fertility drugs, injectable meds to keep me pregnant and benadryl to keep me alive due to my allergies) but when my daughter was about 9 months old the damage came to the surface and I had MRSA cellulitis for close to 2 years in my thighs until I gave in and had all my teeth pulled. due to steroids they were rotting one by one and harboring the infection in my mouth in between times they would get it out of my legs. Within a month of having them pulled the infection was gone. And I could finally heal enough to have skin grafts. So I was without teeth from October 2005 to June 2006. So long story, I understand! > peggy wrote: > Been busy getting dental surgery, (always a blast!) and working on getting dentures. I have now been without teeth now since November and am getting tired of eating the same 4 things.
Guest guest
Good Grief Anne! That sounds positively horrible! MRSA scares the dickens out of me! Thankfully you got a lovely little girl out of the deal. That's worth a lot. I had uterine cancer when I was pregnant with my second child. The specialists all wanted me to abort the baby, but my General Practitioner said " Go with what your gut is telling you. " So, I did. We had a rough go of it and just about didn't make it. But that little boy is now 6'4 " and all grown up with a family of his own. I still have problems from that era, but I wouldn't trade my son for anything. Guest guest
I am permanently MRSA but hey I always get a private room in the hospital now. I have had it in my muscles, tissue, sinuses, bloodstream, and IV lines now (I have a surgically implanted port-a-cath now). My Mom is permanently MRSA now too she started out with it in her spinal fluid, then her blood, lungs, etc. And unfortunately since my daughter had tubes put in (age 5), her next 2 ear infections were MRSA thanks to the idiot that did her surgery. It took the U of M and some pretty nasty drugs and going everyday to have her ears suctioned out for a week to get rid of it so she is considered negative now but it will follow her forever.
