My doctor suggest a neurostimulator for my neck, and I told him that I thought, considering the location, I would likely find it more irksome that helpful. Perhaps I wasn't too far off the mark on that one. Lyndi
Guest guest
Barb, I am so happy to meet you. You are living a dream of mine. I too have back pain which is the main reason I take pain medication. Gabapentin helps some of my nerve pain and morphine kind of eases the rest. Hope to hear of your adventures. Don't hesitate to write when you are needing an ear. Jennette Barb wrote: >I am Barb, age 61. Guest guest
Welcome Barb! I am 55 years old and have been on disability for the past 5 years. I have type 1 diabetes, RA and osteoarthitis in my neck, back, shoulders and hands. I also struggle with bipolar depression and chronic migraines. That's the major ones. I am in pain management and take oxycodene and tramadol for pain and fioricet for headaches. I am on social security disability and medicare. Medicare has been a huge help since I don't have to pay any co-pays with my AARP supplement. Most of my medications are generic and only cost $7 a month. This is very helpful since I am on 9 different medications. I can telll you how I deal with my pain. It might be helpful. I have learned to block out a certain amounts of pain by keeping my mind busy. I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. It has been wonderful. I can download books and play games/puzzles. It lets me connect with the internet too. When I am not reading I try to do some easy crafts. Also my hubby, 2 cats and a dog keeps me busy. This group and the other ones I am imvolved in have been a life saver. Glad you joined us. Gentle hugs, Tami
Guest guest
Barb While you wait on Medicare, are you using an Rx discount card? You can get them for free online from tons of places. Some drug companies offer assistance through pparx.com Steve M in PA > Barb wrote: > I gave up my health insurance when I retired and now pay full price for my meds. Guest guest
Barbara, a neurostimulator on MY neck sounds bothersome too. I am going to turn it down. sioux, susan, sue > Barbara wrote: > I tried an implanted neurostimulator, but found it more annoying than helpful.
