" They are added on to the bottom of the aids and are fairly delicate, compared to the Phonak boots. Our audie told us not to remove them because they aren't made to be taken off and on repeatedly. It makes the aids rather long with the boots on (quite a bit bigger than the Phonak's) but has never complained. It is worth the difference between the analogs and digitals! Here is the link to Phonak's website about the Claro's with the FM boots: http://www.phonak.com/index.cfm?dom=1 & rub=2,20,33,163 & art=0 & lng=1 and without the FM boots: http://www.phonak.com/index.cfm?dom=1 & rub=2,20,33,158 & art=0 & lng=1 The same transmitter/microphone that works with the Phonak will work with the Claro's, it just needs the analog module in it replaced with the digital module. The little button you see in the pictures on the aids turns the Claro's on and switches the programs. The only thing you cannot do on the aids that you can do with the remote control is change the volume (which was the only thing you could do with the Phonak's - now if they could put it all on the aids you wouldn't need the remote control!). The Claro remote control is small and doesn't have a cord that attaches. You can get a clear case to put the remote in (it zips) that has a key chain type ring attached to it. We plan to get some kind of ID Badge type of cord to attach to it. The remote will work without taking it out of the case. Oh, the remote also turns on and off (unlike the Phonak one)so you can turn it off and not accidentally change the programs (like I did several times with the Phonaks - of course, I didn't realize it until my son would ask why I changed his HA's). Hope my little bit of experience will help you! Finally, I have something to share rather than to ask! in NC
Guest guest
Barbara Asked: Which transmitter are you using for the FM? What kind of battery life do you get? I'm assuming it really chews through batteries when the FM is on We have the Sound Pilot remote. Here's the link: http://www.phonak.com/index.cfm?article_id=2634 We use the Handy Mic. Here's the link: http://www.phonak.com/index.cfm?dom=1 & rub=2,22,61 & art=0 & lng=1 's batteries last about a week, depending on how much the boots are on! We try to remember to turn them off when we aren't using the microphone, but we do forget at times!
