Guest guest
My pain clinic doesn't believe in pain medications for (my) back pain is that strange or ??? I know my shoulders still go to sleep on me as yet, when I stand or when I sit. But that isn't pain. The Doctor thought that if we took care of my back that everything else would fall into place. I still have the all over body pain. That hasn't changed. Let me know what you think of this. The plan is: 1. No second hand smoke 2. PT, Aqua therapy, Tai Chi, Yoga. 3. lumbar epidural (don't know what she wrote here) says 2 week flu, not sure what that means) 4. medication (non-opiod best) Cymbalta Savella (I haven't heard of this one, the other one I have been on and the side effects were not good for me). Guest guest
, FYI, the " flu " is Dr writing for " f/u " which means " follow up " . So that would mean they would have you follow up (make another appointment) 2 weeks after your lumbar epidural procedure. Savella (I may be spelling it wrong) is a medication (it's different than Cymbalta and Lyrica, but in that same general category) that has helped some people with pain. It is not an opiate or narcotic. I have taken it. It didn't help me, but then again, no opiate or narcotic has helped my pain either. Hope that helps! Good luck! Guest guest
I'll keep that in mind about the Savella, not that anyone has offered it to me, but I was on Cymbalta once and puked all day from within 20 minutes after I took it then was wide awake and HYPER to the max all night long. Never again!! I didn't think about it but totally agree with what Jen said about the flu being f/u for follow up. That's one of the bad things about doctors' handwriting - I swear they take a course on how to make their writing being totally unreadable! Guest guest
Hi Thanks for that Jen. I missed that and it must have been because of how she wrote it. Otherwise I would have figured it out. I do have a follow up appointment on the 29th to answer questions of how the lumbar puncture went and how long it took for it to work, etc. I was more worried about having a horrid headache but apparently my body can handle these things. I didn't even need a bandage on my back. I have as yet to make appointments to the PT though due to gas money to go, right now. One bad thing of living in the country, 20-30 miles away from town.
