Hi Ann

One of the most common side effects of Gelnique is a skin reaction at

the site application. That's why the directions say to apply it on a

different spot each day. The skin welts, rashes, etc. are different on

each person who reacts to the stuff. Applying it on a different spot

each day helps some people avoid skin reactions, but for anyone with

sensitive skin, a skin reaction is likely to happen anyway.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that you had a typical Gelnique

reaction. I'm very surprised that your doctor didn't know that skin

reactions are one of the most common side effects associated with this

medication.
