Guest guest
Each individual therapist will have to bill the time that they saw the patient one on one has always been my understanding. Then each therapist's documentation needs to back the time that was spent one on one. We treat a lot of peds here and we typically only see the child for 30 min each discipline, however there are some days that the child cannot tolerate a full hour and half. We try to rotate who is last with the patient so that no one gets the short end of the stick so to speak. I am sending OT, PT and ST to see a 7 month old who does not tolerate activity very well. My question is, if all three disciplines are seeing the pt for an hour together can I bill more than 4 units? I have heard that as long as each individual therapist is working on their individual goals and documents what they are doing in that hour that this could be a possibility. I have very little experience with peds and could use some help with billing. We have tried to adjust schedules, but it does not seem to work well. This is because of the child's schedule which is unpredictable, but usually has a good hour in the morning. Thanks for any input.
