Guest guest
Hello! My 2 year old is the total opposite from the "vitamin A & sideglance" post created by S. back in early December. We're so fortunate that he has really good vision but I can't help notice that whenever I wave my hands or any object on the side of his face, he will not even blink or flinch. Currently he takes Nordic Naturals Codliver oil and a vitimin that has E & DHA. His eye contact is great when he wants your attention but when your looking for his attention he looses eye contact or looks the other way??? Especially when eating, he'll eat ok but still look the other way....anything to avoid eye contact with me. I was thinking of wearing some silly clown tinsel eye lashes or deep red lipstick to get more of his attention but maybe I'll just be wasting my time. I would like to try this "Mycellized Vitamin A" that "Elena Polyzos" mentioned in the post below; in hopes I could get better eye contact from him. I hear you have to be careful with vitamin "A" overdose, so I guess I'll have to check with my DAN to check on dosage adjustments. Any thoughts or suggestions you might have to help improve eye contact would be greatly appreciated. I've been having virus computer problems lately and have 5,856 e-mails to read on this board but I surely do love this informative & very important parent forum!Thank you always,Irma To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, December 2, 2009 6:52:17 AMSubject: Re: Re: Vitamin A and side glancing Mycellized Vitamin A solves the problem of sidewards glancing for us. I give my daughter one drop a day (5,000 i.u.). By the way, I ran out of Kirkman's Mycellized Vitamin A and couldn't get it for a while as Kirkman's had a problem supplying it. Once I found another source, I started my daughter back on it and in a few days the sidewards glancing was gone. I swear by this - her eye contact is great when she's on it and no eye stims. Guest guest
nordic naturals and vit E both are soy based which can trip kids out and keep them stoned. first you will need to pull the soy out so he is not tripping and that and see if that helps Vitamin A and side glancing> > > > In addition to being a parent I am also a special education teacher. Guest guest
You're right Christel, they are soy based! I checked Kirkman labs' "Mycellized Vitamin A" and it's soy free? Maybe I should switch to Mycellized Vitamin A? Would you happen to know of another alternative vitamin that's not soy based good for eye contact? Gosh, my DAN has him on 1 teaspoon of nordic naturals codliver oil once per day and 3 capsules of vitamin E/DHA/Omega's per day. He did not show any food sensitivies to soy on his IGG/IGE test but he does seem lethargic sometimes especially during meal times. I'll try your advice and pull the soy away and see what happens! As always thank you Christel, I appreciate your well given advice!Irma To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tue, March 2, 2010 9:10:15 PMSubject: Re: NO PERIPHERAL BUT GREAT EYE SIGHT??? nordic naturals and vit E both are soy based which can trip kids out and keep them stoned. first you will need to pull the soy out so he is not tripping and that and see if that helps Vitamin A and side glancing> > > > In addition to being a parent I am also a special education teacher. Guest guest
I sent a link earlier today regarding a company that sells CLO. It does not have soy in it. Guest guest
kirkmans is soy free Re: NO PERIPHERAL BUT GREAT EYE SIGHT??? I was so upset when you told me this but then realized this morning when I looked, we are using Carlson's. I hope you don't have anything to say that will make me mad I bought that brand LOL :-) Dr. Mercola said Carlson's was the only brand to use if you were still gonna use CLO (I guess he is not so much for CLO anymore for some reason, but said if you insisted, to use Carlson's ??) Guest guest
have you concitered doing kirkmans lemon flavored one. it is soy free. as for the egg thing, even if you don't see a rash, it will be doing damage to his immune system and can burn it out by putting it into over drive, this is how hyper immune, hypoimmunity happens. you can also send it into high drive and end up immnodeficient this way....so you may want to read up on that. once you burn through IGG (which by the way you AREN"T going to see a rash, IGG is internal and is the gut, so it will rip that up) it will turn into IGE which can get you out of the blue into anaphyaxis. not something to mess with...... Re: NO PERIPHERAL BUT GREAT EYE SIGHT??? Mercola is a "krill oil" kind of guy. I never thought of even trying it, but -- I like the guy. I use Carlson's too. From what Christel told (posted for) me, they use "soy" as the Vitamin E. However, a website said differently. I called the company, no one has gotten back to me yet. My son will only take the Carlson's. -- Lemon flavor. He doesn't do well on soy proteins, but seems fine on the oil. He has gained 2.5 years of speech in 6 months. (It's a crap shoot! :)However, I took Christel's advice and went in search of a new fish/CLO. Someone else posted the Coromega. (Vitamin Shoppe has it 1/2 price right now.) -- My brother likes it. My son still won't take that. I've tried Omega Brite (Tutti Fruti) -- no real luck. I feel like his skin is getting dry from lack of CLO, so I went back and bought some more Carlson's -- because I felt that even though it might have soy in it, he did well on it and he will take it. (Likes it even!) -- in our case, it hasn't held him back. Coromega has egg yolk in it, which came up on my brother IGg 3+ (bad) -- but I give it to him anyway..I figured, he hasn't rashed out, and he likes it, and he can take it in his lunchbox. It's a such a small amount... So, I keep looking.picking battles is tough... ~laura > > >> >> > > > nordic naturals and vit E both are soy based which can trip kids out and> > keep them stoned. first you will need to pull the soy out so he is not> > tripping and that and see if that helps> >> >> > ----- Original Message -----> >> > --> Toni> > ------> Mind like a steel trap...> Rusty and illegal in 37 states.>
Guest guest
No. But I will! Do any of these come in single dose packets (like the coromega )-- I am having a bit of a time trying to space out his supplements. So much so, that I give some supplements like every other day... His IGg panel was lit up like Vegas - He had 50+. According to my DAN, she said it was more of an indication of leaky gut than a true food intolerance. That being said she told me to keep the 1's in rotation, 2's and 3's were out. If I wanted to challenge it. To make sure that he had not had any in at least two weeks. Egg yolk was one of them, egg whites didn't show up. So, I did challenge that one...(he ate a LOT of eggs that week) -- and nothing. He rashes out to the true ones (and it's immediate and obvious). (That is what I have found)... Coconut was another 3+. But he was on Caproyl (Liquid Caprylic Acid)-- which is coconut derivitive -- and he made like AMAZING progress on that. (that came back as a good one to take on his stool analysis -- so I decided to pick that battle.) And that was a part of his " naturals " protocol. So, while I agree with you that diet should be strictly adhered to, I do make exceptions in the case of nutrition (which I think is extremely important) and when I do -- I make sure it isn't something that has a devastating effect on him (like the gluten/casein/dairy/wheat/corn). So that is what I mean about picking battles. laura > > > > > > > > > > > > > > nordic naturals and vit E both are soy based which can trip kids out and > > > keep them stoned. first you will need to pull the soy out so he is not > > > tripping and that and see if that helps > > > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > > > -- > > Toni > > > > ------ > > Mind like a steel trap... > > Rusty and illegal in 37 states. > > >
