Guest guest
Once, when I was away at grad school, my nada got a credit card from a clothing store--in my name--and used it and paid it, as if it was hers--for several years. It was from a clothing store she knew I did not care for at all. In her sick mind, this was possibly retaliation for me being too 'separate' by not liking the same clothes she did...or maybe she was feeling like merging because she liked me that day...or maybe she was upset with me about something else, and remembered I didn't like these clothes, so she wanted to punish me doubly... I am not sure Lynette but I think this is also along the same lines of nadas giving away our belongings without our consent (I went away to summer camp, she gave away my BED and other furniture, I slept on a mattress for years; I went on a high school trip, she sold my record collection at a garage sale)... It obviously has something to do with nadas seeking to 'merge' and be actually one with their children, but the details are eluding me at the moment... Charlie > > I got the mail this morning. Guest guest
Lynette, I think you're making the right choice. When mail is incorrectly addressed, returning it to the sender is the right thing to do. The fact that you know her real address doesn't change that. The main reason I can think of for someone to use anther person's address is to avoid giving out their real address. If she's doing that with the intention of not paying her bills, that's called fraud. At 02:33 PM 05/17/2010 yp_lynnette_cameron_park wrote: >I got the mail this morning. Guest guest
Lynette - Why would she use your address? Because she's running some kind of freakazoid Nada scam, or doesn't want the bill collectors finding her to repossess her stuff, or...who knows? But you might want to order copies of your credit report from all three agencies, or write to them and have them put a letter in your file stating that she does NOT live there and that you are not responsible for her debts, or something like that (I think in some places you can publish such a notice in the county's newspaper of record for legal issues.) I don't know what the repercussions for you might be, but I wouldn't trust her any farther than I could throw her, if she's pulling stunts like this. > > I got the mail this morning. Guest guest
Duh! Lynnette, for a Phd, you are so naive. Why? So YOU have to deal with her shit. Fool her, Stick to your guns. She doesnt live there. Return to sender, no such person at this address. Or, if you want to be a real prime bitch, which you would never do, return it with a note on the back giving her actual address. LOL. Friggin 63 yo 5 yo kids. Amazing! Guest guest
Ok... geez you guys... no mercy! I wrote, " Not at this address. Return to sender " and threw them back in the mailbox - flag UP! I also spoke with my SO (an attorney) who said that because she has my address listed as HERs with Social Security and DMV (state and federal agencies) this could be federal mail fraud if I wanted to pursue it. Something to think about. Also, I spoke with dad... guess what - HE GETS MAIL AT HIS HOUSE TOO - AND COLLECTION CALLS LOOKING FOR HER.... Wow... is there NO low this woman won't slink to.... Lynnette - thank God I have a therapy appt on Wed. > > I got the mail this morning. In it were three " plain white envelopes " addressed to Nada at MY house. They look like bill collectors. Guest guest
" Naive, " yes Doug... my therapist actually thinks the same thing. She's also amazed I'm not jaded as hell. I think I missed out sometimes... Lynnette - Queen of the Understatement for a Monday > > > > I got the mail this morning. In it were three " plain white envelopes " > addressed to Nada at MY house. Guest guest
Lynette, That's exactly what I would do - " Return to sender - incorrect address " in BIG RED letters, then back into the mail box. At my house we get LOTS of phone calls for my brother-in-law from creditors & banks. Obviously, he put our number down on some loan applications without our permission. I always tell them " there is no one here by that name - you have the wrong number. " If they continue to call, I get very nasty with them, ask to speak with their supervisor and use the word " harassment " a lot. Usually that does the trick. Between the collection calls for my BIL, the telemarketers & my nada, I'm thinking of getting rid of my phone line completely. Then I'll change my cell number and only give it out to friends. I would DEFINITELY check your credit reports - you can do it for free once per year. Its a good thing to do anyhow. Don't want to find out that nada is doing something that will screw up your credit. - > > > > I got the mail this morning. In it were three " plain white envelopes " addressed to Nada at MY house. Guest guest
What a HUGE boundary violation. I would send it back to her creditors with her current address, phone number, email, work address, and any other piece of contact information (maybe an updated photo with the new eyelids?) that you can think of. Maybe work as a volunteer creditor? In a mood today for some reason, Tina > > > > > > I got the mail this morning. In it were three " plain white envelopes " addressed to Nada at MY house. Guest guest
Lynette - If she's using your address and your dad's in order to evade bill collectors, and it qualifies as fraud, then you don't want to be an accessory. If there's finally an arrest warrant issued, do you want the cops showing up at your door because her driver's license lists your address? Plus, just think - if she's in the Pen for a few years, you won't be getting those visits, and even the phone calls will be limited. It's the ultimate LC! > > > > I got the mail this morning.
