I didn't have success with topamax. They put me on Lyrica with good

results.

HAPPY TUESDAY ELLEN!

I have heard so much about Lyrica lately. (I do understand that medicines effect

people differently) The doctor wrote a script for Topamax to try and prevent

these headache and migraines that are haunting me.

Have you been on it for a while now? Do you suffer from head pain? Did the

Lyrica help with that? Did the Lyrica help with anything else going on? (I

understand if it is private) Thank you for your reply in advance.

I'm thankful this " group " was recommended to me. It feels so nice just to let my

thoughts out there and not feel judged.

Have a terrific rest of the week,

Tessa

Moderator's Note: Pfizer offers a patient assistance program that will provide

Lyrica free to patients who qualify. See www.Pfizerhelpfulanswers.com Most

drug companies have patient assistance programs. You can Google them or ask

your doctor or pharmacist.

I had great success on Lyrica. I just can't afford it any longer. I did notice

a great reduction in joint pain as well.

It's main use is for fibromyalgia which is oversensitivity to nerve

impulses throughout the body. The extra value of less all over pain was a nice

surprise.

Hi Tessa. I get frequent and at times severe migraines. I get headaches

everyday. I was tried on several " migraine " medications which never really

helped. I have never been on topamax, but I have friends who take it and feel

it helps. I take furicet. It is an old med, but it works for me.

Several years back I had a constant headache for several weeks. My doc sent me

to a neurologist. An MRI showed nothing. He finally said that the headaches

were from the birth control medication that I was on for hormonal problems.

Apparently after 2 years it can become a side effect. Three days after I

skipped my dose, no more headache!

I know how miserable I was. I hope you get relief soon. Gentle hugs, Tami

Is anyone on this medication? If so, is the Topamax working for out you?

Thank You Tami,

For passing along the information, I however am not on the pill.

A friend of mine has been suffering from migraines/headaches for years. Her

doctor put her on the " Mini-Pill " . She states that she has been doing a lot

better head pain wise. I haven't talked to her in a while, so, I hope things are

looking good for her. When I run into her I will ask and pass along the info.

Yesterday, after much debate and research, I went ahead and had the Steroid

injection in my neck. (I visited with the doctor giving the injection and

another doctor not involved) The injection went smoothly and I was able to come

home and sleep for about 16 hours. I know this sounds insane! But, to my family

members they understood and encouraged it. They were so caring and helpful.

Bringing fresh ice packs (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off), medications on

schedule, helping to the restroom and bring toast and small healthy snacks. I

wasn't on any hard medications to make me sleep like that. I've just been so

very sleep deprived. Neck feels pretty good today (except for small head pain),

but, I am still icing and going to be taking it easy. Rest is what my body is

craving.

I hope you are having a terrific day and I appreciate your kindness and gentle

hugs.

Thank You again and gentle hugs back,

Tessa

Hi Tessa

I am so glad you researched steroid injections carefully. It's wonderful that it

is helping. If I slept for 16 hours I would

wake a with a wet bed. My bladder does well to manage 6-7 hours. Sleep

deprivation is pure Hell.

Take good care of yourself.
