Guest guest
Ouch! That sounds horrible. Just falling on concrete sounds bad enough, but shudder to think about falling right on my knees. You certainly have my sympathy. I fall quite often and know how bad those can be. My knees and ankles are messed up because of the falls. I would call the ortho doctor's or pain doctor's emergency after hours number and ask them what to do. Maybe they can give you something else for the pain. You are trying to keep your knees elevated, right? I know that is hard to do when you are talking about your thigh. Do you have a laptop and can you work from the sofa or bed? If not, then at least take 10 minutes every hour to put them up. I will lay on the floor and prop my legs straight up on the sofa or against a wall. It gets them up as high as I can. If cold helps, why not keep putting ice packs on them? If you don't have enough ice packs, you can make your own. Take a plastic baggie full of beans or rice and putting it in the freezer for several hours. Then wrap it in a dish towel and apply to the area. I am so very sorry that you have to work right now. I always hated having to work when I was in severe pain. Gentle hugs and a speedy recovery, > wrote: > I need some sympathy. I am not usually one who needs such a thing, but I fell on the 23rd, straight down on my knees onto concrete.
Guest guest
You have every reason to vent, that's what we're here for. Do you have another appt scheduled for the Dr? Tylenol doesn't do squat for me. I do ibuprofen 4 at a time. Or maybe down my thigh if I hurt my spine. My pain meds + Tylenol are not helping at all. Ice helps but I can't stay in the freezer. This is all added to my other pain issues. >I don't know what to do now. The shot obviously did not help. I have a deadline so I can't just go to bed. I have to sit at this %$# & @ computer. >I'm sorry to complain. I know we all have problems, that is why we are here. Just wondered if anyone had suggestions to get me through this setback. I was doing so much better.
Guest guest
Thanks. I knew you guys would give me a lift! Maybe not when I am sitting on my butt on the concrete, but a lift nonetheless. Ha ha! I am supposed to go back " as needed " for another shot in a few months, or maybe try the Supartz shots again. They really helped before but that was before I fell on my knee three times. I have Percocet for the pain which originally brought me to this list (herniated disks, scar tissue from surgery, pain down legs, prosthetic-leg-related stuff), but it doesn't help my knee when I stand and sit. That is an acute grinding pain that makes me yelp so loud my dogs wake up and look at me. They don't offer to help, just look at me! Ibuprofen and Aleve really help, but I cannot take it more than one day in a row because of tummy and esophageal ulcer history. > Ellen wrote: > You have every reason to vent, that's what we're here for.
