Guest guest
I was a paramedic. Full moons are busy and hellish. So yes, full moons are bad all around. By the way I was a paramedic in Northern Wisconsin 1995-1997 www.caringbridge.org/visit/karenwatrudmackey (my Mom) www.caringbridge.org/visit/aemr911 (Me) > wrote: > Does anyone else react when there is a full moon?? I worked in Dallas at Parkland, the county hospital and it was next to the street that had the transexuals, prostitutes and druggies. I have x-rayed transexuals with crooked wigs. As a professional straightened their wigs. I am sure you have some stories also. I have x-rayed drunks and one that stands out that was in a wreck and he almost cut his ear off and he wanted to go to the bathroom and he saw himself in the mirror and say " I almost cut my f u ****g ear off and was moving it up and down.he Doctor didn't have to numb it as he sewed back on. One patient I had to x-ray had been shot with buckshot and we had to put markers on the places before I x-rayed him. There he was buck naked with this metal while I x-rayed him to see where all the pieces were. Also, I worked the weekends and the Saturday night drunks would be there on Sunday. I came in to x-ray one and he had been waiting awhile as they had more urgent patients and he smelled of puke and beer and said, " Boy, you sure are pretty, would you like to be my girlfriend " . I respectfully thanked him and told him I was engaged at the time. I had one guy come in holding his finger he had chopped off in a storm cellar door. Also the holidays, we knew we would have more. There are sad times also as I have had to x-ray dead children and a baby to rule out foul play. I had to x-ray a child whose Father drowned him because he was on Meth and thought the Lord told him that the Devil was in him and he actually poked an eye out because her read a scripture that said if something offends thee pluck the eye out. The sad thing was his Brother was at our house when I was on call and they called me and told me the name and I told him to go to the hospital also. I am sure you have had may situations also and I like to concentrate on the miracles I have seen and people who made it but I am always amazed that the drunks that are in car wrecks receive less injuries because their bodies are relaxed and people who are not drinking tense up on the approaching accident. I love to look at the sky and at my Dad's farm there are not many houses around and you can go out and it seems you can reach up and touch the Moon and stars. My husband bought a good telescope and looking at the Moon and the craters on it are so amazing. I am in awe of full moons but I do not howl. I did see a special once on the Discovery channel about the lunar effects in Australia or New Zealand and the effects on people . I wish I could remember more but they compared the how the tides were effected with the lunar cycles and I found this website that talks about it and I guess people thought if lunar cycles effect the tides , it can effect people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tide Bennie

For some odd reason, my pain gets worse during the full moon. I don't know why,but my cervical spine to my lumbar spine lights up with chronic,no worse than chronic(if there is such a thing)pain all day and night. I've got three bulging discs in my neck(one persons bulge is another persons herniation), five herniations in my thoracic spine, and two in the luimbar, all from an accident at work in 1995! /NY
Guest guest
I think our pain may be worse when there is fluid involved - even when it a small amount involved with discs - when that phase of the moon happens. The full moon affects the tides of the sea and anything else that has fluids. Especially the brain. That is why in psych wards, where I used to work, and yes they gave me a key to get out (which my husband always jokes with me about lol), we always had a hard time with our residents during that phase of the moon.
