Guest guest
This morning, my mother said, " I was going to call you last night, but I knew your daughter would be on the phone all night. Why do you have to call me so early?? " I call her early because 1) I'm going to the gym and want to get our conversation over with; I don't want her calling me later AND 2) I know she has to get ready for work and know she can't talk long. If we talk later in the evening, it'll be marathon monologue. So here's where I need advice. She said to me, twice, " call me tonight, ok? So we can talk more. " Each time, I was so flustered! I'm so mad at myself. I just said, 'Um, ok, we'll see. " Any advice on how I can get out of calling her? I'm watching a long-ish movie with my family tonight, just as she's getting home from work. It kind of annoys me that it's ok for me to put my plans aside to listen to her, but when she's in the middle of something, she'll just say, " Oh, I can't talk right now. " I was just thinking of telling her later that I forgot. Thanks!
