Guest guest
Hi I usually take it easy for the rest of that day and resume my regular routine the next day. I have a friend who always takes three days off work, when he has radio frequency work done. I've never needed to do that, but everyone is different. Your doctor should tell you how long you need to rest. youtube.com has several videos on the subject. Just open up youtube.com and type in exactly what you want to find. It'll give you some choices. If your doctor doesn't plan to use a fluoroscope, hobble away quickly. Radio frequency ablation/lesioning treatments require fluoroscope guidance, so that the doctor knows exactly where to put the needles. A couple of days? A couple of weeks?
Guest guest
Moderator's Note: Radiofrequency Lesioning/Ablation burns the nerve. it does not burn the surrounding tissues. Lyndi ------------------ Nadine writes: I haven't had it done but am considering it as an option, have you asked the doctor if this effects only the nerves that register pain, or does it effect the soft tissue in the area from having sensation and the ability to move? Guest guest
Here is 's experience: Mine are done at C2, C3, C4 and C5 levels. It usually takes 2 days for the nerve to die, during which time I am usually in a lot of pain. If they do not get all the little nerve branches it may not hurt as bad, but they will grow back faster and hurt sooner. There has been one time when it did not bother me at all past the first day, but that is not usual. > wrote: > I am going in for a radiofrequency ablation of my sacroiliac joint in about two weeks. Guest guest
It was denied by my insurance company - though two doctors said I needed it - because I hadn't had enough sacroiliac injections yet. So I've had another set of injections - they worked about 60% for about two weeks and are wearing off quickly, so NOW I will reapply to the insurance company for the RFA. Isn't it lovely when the insurance companies play doctor? - in NM
