Cross Post... my 4/10 appt at the pain clinic

Well i went to the Fridley MAPS clinic yesterday, what a joke! To my

knowledge i can have 2 pain meds beyond Tylenol and ibuprofen WITH

Benadryl... Fentanyl (only the IV form), and Nucynta (which few have heard

of outside of pain clinics).

Basically i am SOL. They want me to do time with a " Pain Psychologist " . I

don't trust psychologist or psychiatrists for reasons in my past... (part

of which you can read about on my caringbridge site) and other reasons too

since then.

I am to do PT with their clinic but they can't assure me that the place

will be latex free. And having left both Sister Kenny and Institute for

Athletic Medicine by 911 paramedics...So not really thinking that is going

to happen.

The Pain NP did mention swimming PT but then saw my legs & bandages had a

coronary about them. Hello... i am not a risk to anyone, everyone is a

risk to me! I can only swim in pools (per the surgeon that did my

surgeries... 13 irrigation and debridements plus 4 grafts ~2 to each leg~)

because lakes have God only knows what in them!

After i do everything they want and jump through a few more hoops... then

they will consider talking about putting in a pain pump which seriously

scares me... i don't need pain meds 24/7, I am afraid my body will build up

a tolerance to the fentanyl or God forbid become allergic to it too after

awhile. Then I am down to NOTHING!!

That's all i know for now!
