Hi!  So glad to read your post.  My mom has been diagnoised with BPD  .

Wow  it explains so much.  It is still hard for me to be around her without

wanting to run.  I want to scream  I CAN'T FIX YOU.  I NEVER COULD .  I too

feel guilty and decided I have to forgive her for the abuse over the years to

heal myself.  I went to my first face to face coda meeting Sat.  Felt I had

found a home.  Please let me know what you know about being a child of a BPD?

thanks.  all so new to me.  /Illinois

Subject: New person

Welcome to the board. I'm new here myself. Mostly I started out by reading other

posts. That in itself was helpful. I've discovered things about BPD parents that

I always thought were just " normal " quirks in my Mom. Her unceasing disease of

the month mentality, her inability to be pleased by anything I do. The list goes

on. It's helped me to realize that my history with her is not the norm. And it

explains why I have such a hard time being around her. The guilt is finally

going away and I'm beginning to feel free to be myself.

I hope you will feel comfortable enough to share some of your thoughts on the

matter. Or just drop a line to encourage others. It's not easy to talk about but

it's great to know we're not alone.
