Guest guest
Hello Friends, I have been in chronic pain since 1998 from a high impact car accident. No broken bones, just a broken heart. My motto has been, " At least I can feel the pain " for it is amazing to have walked away from such a horrific accident. I have had lots of testing and the MRI's show Bulging Discs, Narrowing and Degenerative Disc disease (22 years old, I am now 35) I have pain down the right leg, which feels like a sharp knife in the back of my leg. My right foot goes numb and my toes have no feeling most of the time. I have fallen when I get out of bed, due to my leg being numb, also my leg does go out on me at times. I have started the process of Steroid Injections. My first one was at the end of December, L-5/S-1. (I have extreme anxiety, so, getting this done was a tad nerve wracking) I was in bed for several days icing and taking medication. The knife feeling in the back of my leg was reduced to a " butter knife " feeling, but, the numbness was gone! Awesome! Thursday, February 2, I awoke to " the sharp knife " feeling and numbness in my foot returned. It was nice to have some relieve for about a month from " the sharp knife " (Although, after the injection I had a Static Migraine for 22 days due to " Un-Masking) I was wondering if anyone has had these Steroid Injections? Have they worked for you? How many did you have to get? How long did they last? Would you recommend them? I have one scheduled next week to be injected into my neck. Next month I have an injection scheduled for my Facet Joint. L-5/S-1 was $4,500 and I'm thinking the next ones will run the same. I was told they could work, could work for a week, a month, even a year or not even work at all. I am so desperate to find relief. I apologize this post is so long. I am a new poster and had no idea there was a group like this on the computer. I'm also a new computer user, Please bare with me. Thank you for listening. Please let me know if I have posted this properly. Thank you
