I will be asking my primary care doctor, once again, to restart my Actiq or relace it with something comperable. Please wish me luck, I'm REALLY going to need it. I wish I could take Atique. I have heard it is good. I just bumble along with my Methadone. I am going to change the subject here. I am trying to learn.. Let us know if you got Atique. My main problem is osteoarthritis in my neck. C5 & C6 are the main ones. (Too high for comfort. Scary!) I have Scoliosis and other bulging discs. I am 69 and maybe it seems like it is my time to have problems but I see women my age taking walks, running, playing tennis, taking trips. I can't do anything. Almost every day you would find me in my Lazy Boy watching TV or, of course, the computer. I need to go to the ophthalmologist because something is wrong with my eyes. I see double, etc. I have too much pain to make an appointment and get myself in the office. Some nights my neck feels so tight and crunchy that I just do not know if morning will find me drinking coffee. I hurt my neck with a Shiatsu massager. I used it too hard and in too many places. I used it in all the places where I was feeling arthritis. (Ten years ago) If I complain of pain, my doctor says, " You need a pump. " (I will not get one. Not ever) I believe there are other modalities that he could use. Shots. Oh, I don't know what else. What do your doctors use to help ease your pain? I was very athletic before all this pain started. I would dance for two hours a day or walk two hours a day. I followed the rules of health. All the books said, " Get a lot of exercise. " Do not. The books are wrong. I am learning how to use this. Steve, you have been so helpful to me.
Guest guest
Dear siouxmoore and others with neck problems. You are not alone. I suffer big time with neck problems. I have tried absolutely everything and nothing works besides knocking me out to relieve my neck pain. I am 58 and I want to live, too. However, I am learning there are just some things I cannot do anymore. My daughter asked for help moving 3 hours away. I had to say no other than helping do some driving. I cannot lift . It makes me feel bad to say no to people I would love to assist but I don't want to spend a week in bed recovering from doing an activity. I try to help them in other ways.
