Guest guest
DS (now 4.5 years old) was diagnosed with autism about a year ago. His basic problems are attention and communication (although his vocabulary is not too bad). He also gets obsessed with objects and has some fine motor delay like writing. He gets distracted very easily and needs frequent re-direction. But he seeks to socialize; however, he doesn't know how to. Recently his tests showed Landau Kleffner syndrome. We did 2 rounds (40 treatments each) of mHBOT + we are into our 2nd round of Hard HBOT. But that didn't do much. We are also doing some chelation (just started in December). He showed high measles antibodies. So I wanted to do the high dose vitamin A protocol at 400,000 I.U. per day for 2 days (he weighs 30 lbs now); however, we are supplementing vitamin D and waiting for that to come within range. I think he also showed auto-immunity to brain tissues. 1) DAN suggested that we should do a SPECT scan and then he may recommend some more supplements/medicines. I believe the SPECT scan will show which areas of the brain are more active and which are less active. Does seizure medication depend on which area of the brain it is occuring in? Sorry for the ignorance. 2) DAN also mentioned that this is most likely caused by viruses and DS shows all the signs of being a viral kid. So I want to try Valtrex. Is is ok to try Valtrex with chelation/glutathione suppositories? Is it ok to start Valtrex right after HBOT? He is a yeasty kid. Last time I tried OLE simultaneuosly with HBOT and it was a disaster. Also any more treatment suggestions for Landau Kleffner syndrome? Thanks.
Guest guest
I'm presuming you have a positive Anne Connolly test? If so it is indicative of Landau Kleffner variant and doesn't neccessarily mean your child has Landau Kleffner Syndrome. If you've done an EEG or a SPECT that shows nighttime spikes or seizures you'll likely be put on a seizure med like lamictal. It takes quite a while to titrate up and determine how your child will respond. After that you'll begin to explore other LKS treatments like steroids and IVIG. > > DS (now 4.5 years old) was diagnosed with autism about a year ago. Guest guest
my understanding is that LKS needs seizer meds to stop it and then kids do fantastic Landau Kleffner from Anne Connolly DS (now 4.5 years old) was diagnosed with autism about a year ago. Guest guest
My 11 yr old sone has improved tremendously from treating with antiviral,s yeast and bacteria. There is a regression that comes and goes on antivirals, and yeast can become an issue, but he gains skills he never had ( ie puzzles, 1st time at age 7.) Lots of impovements. We couls not chelate because of siezures...but I am really glad we went this route; antivirals, yeast, bacteria, and B-12 shots. Guest guest
Valtrex will definetly kick up the yeast so you'll need a strong anti fungal like diflucan. I think it is good to use chelation suppositories with valtrex ( or any anti viral). As the viruses die off they release heavy metals that you want to get out of the body.
