Guest guest
Hi, I am new here :-)You mentioned the MTHFR mutation? Do you think that is the root of your issues?I was dx'd with an MTHFR mutation (deletion?) while my husband and I did infertility testing recently (after two miscarriages in two years) The doctor said it was no big deal, just take more folic acid. Of course he is just a fertility doctor. My homocysteine levels have always been real good though, I have had them tested at various times in my life, not even knowing I had the MTHFR problem, just that I had read that high homocysteine can lead to heart disease. I didn't put it all together until this past month when researching autism treatments (m-B12) and someone mentioned the MTHFR thing... I figure my kids are probably carrying the same mutation (??? no testing done yet), and their behavior might be treatable. (My 5 year old daughter is dx'd HFA/Asperger's, my 3 year old son has febrile seizures and a few bizarre behaviors but no developmental delays, further tests pending) All of us (me and my two kids) are now on CLO, mb12 drops (and I am taking extra folic acid; I haven't gotten that supp for them yet.... looks I need that for them and a few others?) We will be eliminating some foods too. Just started with gluten-free today for my son. My brother is celiac, as well as some other relatives... so I am hoping with the known family history, we can naturally eliminate the " autistic behaviors.
