,

You can purchase from Amazon the book " DISCONNECTED KIDS: The Groundbreaking

Brain Balance Program for Children with Autism, AD/HD, Dyslexia and Other

Neurological Disorders " . This is very good book that explains how you can do the

tests/assessments if your child is right or left brain deficient and what

exercises to do for balancing the deficient part of the brain. There are lots of

reviews there on this book from other parents who do the program on their own

and their success stories.

Hope this helps,

Krassi

explore it further. While these folks largely miss the boat on foundational

factors of autism such as toxicity, immune dysregulation and oxidative stress,

they seem to have a handle on identifying right brain inactivity which promotes

a more linear existence for our children. Because I have spent hundreds of

thousands of dollars (my own and others) recovering my child, I do not have much

left to pay for another very expensive assessment and treatment. My question is

this: How can I find out what specific interventions are used in the Brain

Balance program and if needed, how can I be trained cost effectively. Huge

thanks in advance for any help you could give me.

We have been doing something similar to BB for the last three to four weeks. We have been going to a Chiropractor office. After the initial assesment where they identified the lack of activity on the right side of the brain, we see them twice a week.

At these visits they do exercises (several ones and different ones) to promote or incentivize the right side of the brain. They do hand/eye coordination exercises where they throw a ball to him and he has to catch it with his left hand while he's standing on a balance board to keep balance. At the same time he has auditory stimulation in his left ear by listening to music.

He also does eye exercises (mainly looking to the left without moving his head), balancing of the left side, smells, sensory stimulation to left left and left arm by applying the unit 10, which is a small device that delivers very soft shots. Battery operated. This is just to stimulate the muscles and nerves on his left side.

We have seen minor improvements but I'm attributing it to the fact that he's doing chelation DMSA too. To me, it's too early to say whether it's working or not.

Hello all,

We also have started to see a neurological chiropractor (which is what Dr,

Melillo is).

You want to find someone who have training from the Carrick Institute

They should be able to train the parent to do effective excercises. I tried to

do this on my own by just reading the book, but its complicated. I think have

someone get you started is very helpful. Also, a carrick Chiro will be able to

pinpoint the brain deficiency much more quickly than a layperson. And if your

insurance covers chiro visits, you are in luck!

We are in Virginia and use:

Dr. Mark S DC PC

Neurology

13549 Midlothian Tpke

Midlothian , VA - 23113

Weve only been doing it for about 4 weeks but I see improvement and a big

calming effect with the excercises. The caveat is... this is a big commitment.

You have to do it everyday, or even better 2x a day. Dr. warned us,

progress is slow. Those looking for the big bang quick fix... not here. But Im

coming to believe the brain is were recovery is, without treating it, all the

other treatments will never hold.
