Guest guest
We treated clostridia about 6 weeks ago with flagyl/nystatin. My son took 3 pro bio golds per day as well. He got a yeast infection in his diaper area last week, and we are redoing the MOAT test, but in the interim, we kicked up the probiotics to the prescription VSL that has 950 billion bugs in it. I have been splitting the packet and I gave him half in the morning and half before bedtime, along with his regular 5HTP. The only other change we made was adding a digestive enzyme 3x/day. Last night it took him 3 hours to get to sleep---could that be the probiotic? He was on his stomach rubbing himself into his mattress--we have not seen that since before we treated clostridia and running laps around his crib. Just wondering if anyone else uses VSL #3 DS and has had issues like that? I put the whole packet in this morning and will not use it at night, but thought someone else might be able to confirm behavior...
Guest guest
Our nutritionist told us to give it in the AM and then the afternoon. We use capsules. I asked about bedtime, and her response was, 'Oh no, I want him to get some sleep! " So I guess it can have that effect. Hope this helps! Guest guest
I give VSL#3 to 2 kids at bed time no trouble with sleep or anything else but in theory it could cause die off. Culturelle (dairy free) is also good as is Threelac. Pro bio gold on the other hand made them insane. Enzymes -- depending on which brand can cause hyper, they do here. example Peptizide for us is OK but AFP Peptizide is better, TriEnza really can cause hyper for us and isn't worth it. Check out enzymestuff.com We're loving Enzymedica's Digest Gold right now but go slow with it if you try it -- strong. > > We treated clostridia about 6 weeks ago with flagyl/nystatin. Guest guest
VSL isn't milk free if you are casien free and also has strep in it if you have PANDAS kids, as does probio (strep lines) just for info sake Re: VSL #3 DS I give VSL#3 to 2 kids at bed time no trouble with sleep or anything else but in theory it could cause die off.Culturelle (dairy free) is also good as is Threelac.Pro bio gold on the other hand made them insane.Enzymes -- depending on which brand can cause hyper, they do here. example Peptizide for us is OK but AFP Peptizide is better, TriEnza really can cause hyper for us and isn't worth it.
