Guest guest
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there are nasal or transdermal forms of Hydroxy B12 and if so where to source it from please. My son has been on Hydroxy B12 injections for the last month with good improvements but the experience has been VERY traumatic for him. We have tried giving it to him awake, asleep, with EMLA, without EMLA and have exhausted every way now. Unfortunately, he cannot tolerate the methyl forms as he is an overmethylator as per his genetics and also previous experience with MB12. We live in the UK but happy to source from anywhere if they exist. Many thanks in advance for your help. Tracey
Guest guest
I do not know, but I am guessing a compounding pharmacy could make it up for you? Guest guest
You can get hydroxy b12 nasal spray from www.leesilsby.com They are a compunding pharmacy and very autism friendly. You will need a script for it. We used to give my son the mb12 shots w/ no problems. We then switched to the hydroxy b12 shots when we found out he was an overmethylator and found out those shots sting! The nasal spray works well for him. Guest guest
This is my guess: Only if the hospital pharmacy is a compounding pharmacy. I think most major hospitals have IV and regular compounders since I would think they have to be able to do things on the fly with inpatients of varying ages and issues. Clinics probably don't since they don't have inpatients, tho.
