Light sensitivity in children is a sign of Lyme Disease - has he been tested?

My son keeps switching the lights off in the evenings. It looks like the light bothers him and he would switch it off. It takes a while for him to be OK with the lights on in the room. This is a recent behavior and he was never like this. A couple of weeks ago he had viral infection and got sick and since then I see this behavior. And he has been very clingy too. Any correlation?

My son had light sensitivity for awhile, it's not as bad anymore I still can't figure out why it was that bad, now it's not? I watched this video of Dr. Kartzinel on the show, The Dr's and he explains about light and sound sensitivity in autistic children.

Yes, light sensitivity is correlated with infections, such as Lyme. I think it

may be from certain toxins the pathogens create, like ammonia.

Yes, my son does this preferring lower lights when he has lyme flares and or

viruses. He and I are both having lyme issues this past month or two and I've

had to go back to wearing my glasses. For me there is light sensitivity and

change in eye pressure that makes a mild astigmatism. My eye doctor says he sees

it in people w viruses but finds it interesting that we can pin it down.

Wow! Thanks for all those who replied. I thought yeast might be an issue - but

with a clean diet and natural antifungals lately, it seems like yeast is for the

most part under control - no more giggling and other yeasty behaviors. He

suddenly started doing this recently after the viral stomach issues (he just

threw up one whole night and had a fever the following morning and then

recovered in a day). I never have tested him for Lyme, it is one more thing I

need to do. I will also look into viral connection. Thanks for the insight.
