Guest guest
Well I just recently learned here on the list that tylenol reduces glutamate so NOT to give it. So now I will be using only motrin/advil as a fever reducer. My 3.5 y son has had seizures at 99 degrees even, so I am not a good judge in his case. However I usually let the behavior of my older child (5) determine if she gets fever meds... if she is lethargic and feverish, I give meds, if she is feverish but playing as normal, I don't medicate. My 2 1/2 year old son who is on a 8 week cycle of Diflucan is sick with some kind of virus for the 3rd time since January. We are working with two DAN doctors and is on the GFCF diet and many supplements. He has a fever of about 101 and is coughing. We have never given him any kind of fever reducer but at what point do you give one? I am also concerned that he has had the same symptoms 3 times in the past 3 months after never having a fever ever. Each time he also gets a rash on his calf (this time it is on his shin). Doctor is just saying that it is a virus. Just looking for some kind of advice. Thanks, Corinne -- Toni------Mind like a steel trap...Rusty and illegal in 37 states. Guest guest
for the immediate fever, I would ask your DAN! to prescibe you Motrin, that you can have compounded, dye free, etc., we give our son Motrin, but only the type compounded through a compounding pharmacy.for the virus history, has your doctor ever suggested Valtrex?Sent from my iPhone Well I just recently learned here on the list that tylenol reduces glutamate so NOT to give it. Guest guest
Motrin does make a dye-free (I have purchased it at Walgreens) but I don't know if it's GFCF legal. for the immediate fever, I would ask your DAN! to prescibe you Motrin, that you can have compounded, dye free, etc., we give our son Motrin, but only the type compounded through a compounding pharmacy. for the virus history, has your doctor ever suggested Valtrex?Sent from my iPhone Well I just recently learned here on the list that tylenol reduces glutamate so NOT to give it. Guest guest
It's actually glutathione, not glutamate. A glutamate reducer would be a *good* thing! Guest guest
Yes, thanks, I realized it like a day and half after I typed it, the wrong word. :-) Still learning :-) It's actually glutathione, not glutamate.
