Both times they kept me flat on my back in the hospital overnight. Couldn't even get up to go pee. Got water and clear soup through a bent straw. But, by the next day, I was good to go home with no lasting repercussions. From personal experience, I can honestly say that the lumbar puncture was certainly less stressful and less painful than having a stroke or delivering a baby that doesn't want to come out. <grin> > I already have daily headaches but to have one that is so horrid I probably be in bed instead of walking around. All I want to do is sleep all the time when I try to heal. I just know I may get stiff if I don't walk around once I get home though. Those of us with daily headaches can usually take the violent headaches in stride. After all, we know the violent ones are eventually going to stop. As for sleep; we're supposed to do that when we're trying to heal. That's nature's way. We do however, have to get up and move about and go to the bathroom and eat something etc. Even a sick pup or kitty knows to do that. Then they go and sleep some more. Hope all works out for your hubby with the new job. Those situations are always stressful at first, but it doesn't take long before it's just a new routine. Hugs to you and good wishes for your mother-in-law. My clients with congestive heart failure, tell me that it can be very, very frightening.
