Guest guest
<snip> DS got sunburnt arms at nursery yesterday and I queried whether they had put suncream on him. They say they did, but his cream (Ambre Solaire for kids) has a distinctive smell which I couldn't smell, so I'm a bit sceptical. <snip> I would say reading between the lines that somebody forgot to put it on him! <snip> I though suncream was OK to use for about 2 years before it starts losing its effectiveness (think I read that in a Which? report somewhere), but DS's nursery say 6 months - ie last year's stuff is no good this year, implying it was therefore my fault he burnt. <snip. Have two members locally who are Pharmacists for Boots, asked them how long suncream lasts they said 2-3 years as long as it's shaken well EACH time you use it. <snip> Don't know the answer to your question, but interesting, because when I took to nursery on Monday (v.hot and sunny) they asked if I'd put sunblock on him I said no but there was some in his bag. They said that I would have to put it on him, as they " weren't allowed " to do so, and were quite apologetic about that. <snip> Yep this is the same are our Nursery, can you imagine the time it would take before each playtime to line up 24 kids apply cream PROPERLY 24 times, and if they don't do it properly they would be liable, what happens if by mistake they used the wrong cream, who would be to blame. No sorry I think it should be down to the parents to apply cream before they set off for Nursery. I bet I'm gonna ruffle some feathers now.
