Guest guest
Mojo, The other thing is brands differ as well as generic differ between brands. They say they are all the same drug but there is a difference. If you find one that works better remember the brand and ask for that one specifically. Good luck, Deb mojopoet2112 wrote: Hello All. I posted a couple of weeks ago concerning an issue I was having with Percocet 10/325 working sometimes and sometimes not working at all. IT WORKED!!!!I I have had the same problem with some of my medications. I know that Vitamin C and citrus products can can't be used with some medications as it effects the metabolism. I cannot take my thyroid with anything and it has to be several hours after other medications. It is so important to consider these things and after reading your posts I am going t o take my pain medications separate from my anti-deptessents. I remember someone posting whose husband was an intern and said that he told her he had gone to a presentation that opoids and anti-deptessents compete for the seritonin and sometimes cancel them out or reduce the effect. I have looked for research on this but haven't found any. If anyone knows of information that addresses this or other medication that reduces the effect of apoids, I would like to know. I recently read the insert on my Zegorid, an medication for GERD, and it says it will enhance the effect so don't take it at the same time. I don't take it daily so I didn't read about it. I forget to drink the amount that some prescriptions state to so I will try to do better to get the effectiveness I need. So if anyone has other information, please post it. Guest guest
Hi Bennie. Let me know how it works out for you. It's made a HUGE difference for me. In the meantime, I'll be scouring the internet to find any references to what's happening between the anti-depressant and the opioid. What you said about them competing with each other makes sense to me. much peace mojo --- bennie@... wrote: > I recently read the insert on my Zegorid, an medication for GERD, and > it says it will enhance the effect so don't take it at the same time. > I don't take it daily so I didn't read about it. > > I forget to drink the amount that some prescriptions state to so I will > try to do better to get the effectiveness I need. >
