Guest guest
My son has had the chicken pox AND MMR vaccine. (followed by autism) I have been giving my son Edleberry extract and Edleberry jam on his toast. He rarely gets sick. We finished a round of ALA chelation every 3 hours for two days. (then he got sick and the cycle was broken) He has a rash that sounds like it could be measles. It is more concentrated on the chest and stomach and he has large red spots on the rest of his body. His chest and stomache have a small bumpy rash, as well as the larger spots. Some of them have a white center, like a mosquito bite. If he has internal measles (like measles in the brain or gut) could the edleberry extract be pulling it out???? He also seems warm and hasn't eaten all day. Any feedback appreciated! Shirley--usually steady, a little on the frantic side
Guest guest
Shirley I don't know anything about Elderberry extract. But, I do know that the Amino Acid Lysine has tremendously helped my son through two outbreaks of Shingles. (upper right side midline to top of shoulder). Both outbreaks occurred after a long day at the beach. Levi is an awesome swimmer. He stays out in the waves for hours. The only workout he enjoys. I used about 3000 mg for five days then a steady dose of 1000 mg per day for about a month now he takes 500 mg per day. I was not told to do this by a DR. I have read about lysine as a viral fighter. Levi is 170 lb. Yes, he is a big boy. As a side note both shingle outbreaks occurred after a long day at the beach. He screamed in pain. I have only seen one other person scream like that. a burn victim. In fact I thought that was what he had. a Sunburn but he wasn't even red. He clawed his chest like he had swallowed acid. I sound gory but it is true. He could not be consoled. I took him to the emergency where they diagnosed shingles. He had a positive titer for chicken pox either recent outbreak or recent vaccine neither of which had happened. Judy
Guest guest
Does he seem to be itching or uncomfortable? Does he have any s/s of a resp. illness along with it? Guest guest
Shirley and Judy, That is a good idea. I have been taking Lysine for a few years now. It is the only thing that keeps my cold sores under control. I get them from too much sun, too much dry cold wind, and stress, usually moving (military, we move on average every 2 years!) I take 500 mg Lysine every day and have recently added it to my son's supplements too. When I feel a cold sore coming on I take extra lysine and also colostrum, lots, and lactinex which I think is a probiotic. I think all of these things would help with measles, chicken pox, shingles etc but I also wonder have you considered taking your child to the dr? I know they can't do much about viral infections but maybe it would be comforting to have your dr. rule out anything serious.
