Guest guest
Sally, I have lousy veins too, and when I had surgery, they came in to put in the IV, and found a " tiny " vein. They told me they may chose to do a central line once under anesthesia. I awoke to it, didn't feel a thing, and according to what I was told, it's the best place for it in case rapid fluids may be needed. Dawn Re: anesthesia Maura, Thanks. I have hard to find veins due to years of Prednisone use. Pray that they can find veins. The other day, they couldn't find one in either hand and found one half way betweeen my wrist and my elbow. They said they even try feet, if they have to. Just hoping I can get by with IVs. I am sorry you had a cyst from one of the IVs. Oh, that day I will be nervous, and I will let them know it. The other day for my anesthesia for the endoscopy, they couldn't have been nicer. They even put a needle in the vein to numb it before they inserted the IV so it wouldn't hurt. That is much better than my local hospital. Thanks for all the information. Both you and Lyssa have been very helpful.
