Guest guest
Sorry for yet another depressing update. Wellsp** Interventional Pain Management hasn't returned any calls yet. Neurology refuses to even let me schedule my follow-up appointment. Neurosurgery refuses to help and they have resorted to lying to me once again. I have a face to face appointment with my PCP tomorrow (technically Today; Tuesday) at 11:30am and I am dreading it. I know that he isn't going to actually help me, but I have to go through the motions anyway. I've been turned down by every office that I get referred to. WHERE ARE THE D*M* DOCTORS FOR SICK PEOPLE!!!? The pain is destroying the last few threads holding my marriage together. ---Start " Adult " Discussion--- My wife can put up with the relative lack of sex (no breakthrough medication- twice a month; Oral Meds, Poor Pain Control- twice a week; Well-controlled pain 2-3/day), she's not happy about it, but she puts up with it, but ---End--- I'm not the same person anymore. I'm always irritable and grouchy. I'm freaking out. If Dr. P (PCP) doesn't help me tomorrow, it'll be only a matter of time until I lose my family, one of the last things that I have left (them and you guys are about it). As if the pain itself wasn't torture enough, my family hates me. I'll let everyone know what happens at my appointment tomorrow. Thanks for everything Steve M in PA, age 22 Married with 4 year old daughter Duragesic 300mcg/hr (q48hr)- Out on 4/4/12 Methadone 45mg/day- OUT since Jan '12 Actiq-1200 (4/day)- OUT since Jan '12 OxyIR 30mg (11/day)- Was out 1/18-2/27/12; Out again on 3/26/12 Grade II-III DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) Probable CPS Comorbid Fibromyalgia & CFIDS (since childhood) Possible RSD Normal TSH Hypothyroidism
Guest guest
, I am so sorry that you are in so much pain and that it is putting your family in jeopardy. I went to see a psychiatrist & later a psychologist. Both of them helped me figure out how to better deal with my pain, my new status as disabled while still being a Triple A personality, and new ways of interacting with my family, including intimacy and sex. Also certain anti-depressants can help with the fibromyalgia pain. My internist, my psychiatrist and I discussed the different treatment options and experimented with them. That does take time. We did a 3 month trial with one in each class. I finally settled on prozac. Again these do help manage the pain in addition to helping with the depression. I thought this site was very informative: http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fibromyalgia_antidepressants.html Good luck. And don't be sorry about updating us. Good or bad, we want to hear from you. > M. wrote: > Sorry for yet another depressing update.
