Guest guest
How does someone get into contact with their local Medtronics rep? Is their contact information posted somewhere? Or, do you have to contact Medtronic corporate to get this information? I cannot get the contact information from my doctor because I have no PM. Why am I asking? The LAST possible office that does morphine pumps, takes my insurance, and is accepting new patients has informed me that even if I move closer (25 miles is apparently too far), they will not even grant me a consultation without me being OFF ALL OPIOIDS, including as needed hydrocodone. Apparently, needing oral opioids until the pump surgery makes me " high risk " . Unfortunately, you can't get a pump until you fail to get relief from a significant dose or experience intolerable side effects before you achieve an effective dose. It would be irresponsible to plant a morphine pump in a patient without trying around the clock opioids first. Who are these opioid naive patients who are getting pumps implanted? And, why?
