We figure everyone knew what we meant : ) It is interesting to listen to all the dialects when everyone gets together for family reunions. I am so saddened that so many members of my family are gone. I miss my Mom dearly and family reunions. The Moms were who held the families together! We can really tell now she's gone, she was a wonderful, colorful, Mom and grandmother. She was a great fisher-woman and taught me how to sling a lure, bait a line with worms, grasshoppers, chicken livers, and catfish gut balls. The largest bass I caught was 10 and a half pounds out of our pool, I have caught a larger catfish but didn't weigh it. I watched and went catfish grappling in Oklahoma also, that was so interesting. She also taught me don't wear white after labor day, iron your clothes, don't go to town unless you are dressed up. mind your manners, and respect your elders. She could sing a gospel hymn and turn around and cuss someone for cutting in front of her in one breath : ) Oh, I wouldn't have wanted her any other way. I guess I honor my generations of Texans also, because I remember their traditions well. I can make some really good iced tea. Thanks for helping me to think of the memories, Cheryl Oh, I just thought of this in closing and am smiling so big! My grandmother dipped Garrets sweet snuff, and I always remember I would be the one who accidently would knock her spit can over. Oh my God, I just get this mental picture of this sweet old lady with that little bit of garrets snuff in the corner of her mouth while she would read " True Story " magazines. The Bible and True Story what a combination. Bennie
